This body of work is still unfolding. Rooted in my engagement with Caribbean breeze blocks, I translate their porous, geometric architectures into large-scale weavings made from heirloom fabrics handed down my mother and grandmother. These materials—soft, domestic, and already structured by memory—allow me to reimagine the breeze block not as concrete infrastructure but as a flexible system for holding light, history, and relation. In the studio, I return again and again to three linked questions: What can this work do for space? What can it do to space? And what can it do with space?

Here, space is understood broadly—physical space, emotional space, ancestral space, and the space of shared social life. The process of weaving, composing, and suspending these forms often leads my thinking rather than the other way around. Rather than define the work too early, I offer these questions as points of entry into an evolving practice. They are not prompts for resolution but invitations to think alongside the work, to consider how these soft architectures might shape, unsettle, or collaborate with the spaces they inhabit.
